Lehigh NHI Projects
The projects below are augmented reality apps for the Microsoft HoloLens 2 mixed reality headset. Click on each project to learn more and see a demo video.
HoloMicroscope™
The HoloMicroscope™ App provides relevant information to microscopists during live microscope sessions to enhance productivity and increase the rate of scientific discovery.
HoloCompose™
HoloCompose™ aims to use augmented reality to teach elementary piano skills in a new, interactive, and customizable way.
Yield Curve
A visual representation of the yield curve. The yield curve describes the return (interest rates) of bonds having equal credit quality but differing maturity dates, typically ranging from three months up to thirty years.
Perovskite Solar Cell Surface
This VR/AR/XR rendition shows the topography of a surface of a perovskite solar cell at the nanoscale and is obtained from Atomic Force Microscope data.
Colloidal Crystal
This is a rendering of experimental data taken using 3D laser scanning confocal microscopy. The sample, synthesized by Dr. Midhun Joy (ChBE Ph.D. '16), is a colloidal crystal of 1 micron silica microspheres that have ordered into hexagonally close packed (HCP - green) and face centered cubic (FCC - red) domains as a result of vibration assisted convective assembly.
BioPrinting Scaffold
This VR/AR/XR simulation represents a 3D-printed biomaterial scaffold designed to promote cartilage or bone tissue formation in different regions.
Aluminum Oxide
This VR/AR/XR image is the structure (atomic arrangement) of an amorphous aluminum oxide.
OrbitGrab™
OrbitGrab™ is a gamified rendering of our solar system, observed on Microsoft HoloLens 2 Mixed Reality Headset.
